Fearns opened Stars on the Rise 2006 on Thursday 17th March with 10 performances from pupils of all ages. The heat winner was Megan Dwyer (pictured), who still looks like she couldn't believe she'd won even after the show had finished! Fayhe Mitchell took a deserved runner-up spot to take her place in the final.
 Presenters Vicky and Luis (pictured right) made their debut on the night, and apart from some teething problems at the end of the show, everything else seemed to go according to plan!
